Sunday Mornings

We believe that God calls and equips all believers to be an active and integral part of the body of Christ. One implementation of this belief is regularly meeting to study His word together, to bring our offerings of praise and adoration to Him in song and prayer together, and to serve one another together in love.

Each Sunday morning at 10am, different small groups meet -- from children to senior adults (that are generally divided by age groups) -- to study God's Word, share with one another, pray for and with one another, and fellowship together (nursery is also provided).

At 11am in our sanctuary, our pastor, Christian Hipp, shares a Biblically-based message of who God is and what that means personally for each of us. Children (excluding nursery ages) spend part of the service with their families or peers in the sanctuary, joining in praise and prayer.  Then, just before the message, children are dismissed to go to a "service" designed to meet them where they are. Music, readings, and other mediums are a blend of traditional and contemporary venues designed to help create an authentic atmosphere of worship.

                                        Our Community

Being a part of the community means a lot to us at Eastside. We believe that God has called us to be a church of influence - to reach out to those around us with the truthful love and loving truth of Christ.  Here are just a few of the ways that we're connecting with our community:

Partners with Columbia Metro Baptist Association Food Pantry:
Through food collections, financial support, need assessment, and volunteering to help prepare, pack, and distribute food, we are dedicated to helping eliminate the hunger of many Columbia individuals and families.

Partners with the Columbia Baptist Student Ministry:
Through regular meetings with area leaders with a heart for the college students in our area, mentoring college students, and cooperating in events with and to college students, we are committed to the mission of letting the next generation know of and about Him.

Forest Pines Assisted Living Retirement Center:
Every month, we conduct an afternoon chapel service at the Center for the many residents.  We have a full service with music, prayer, homily, and fellowship.  When transportation can be arranged for the residents, we also bring them to the many special events that we have at the church.

White Oak Nursing Home:
Every Chrismas, we prepare gift bags for many of the nursing home residents when we became aware that many did not receive a gift.  When we deliver the gifts, we also join them for their Christmas party in singing and fun, while we help serve their Christmas meal and help staff clean-up.

Building Relationships through Community Events:
Whether by helping local residents in our community with essential needs like food and clothing, providing help in moving in or out or local residences, using yard sales to create avenues for making friendships, or by simply playing ball with neighborhood kids, we are committed to being a light of the gospel of Christ in our neighborhood.

                                Our World

Through sponsorning missionaries and mission teams across our nation and around the world -- from supporting outreach ministries to Jewish Americans to Christian school-teachers in China to training nationals to be pastors in Trinidad, we believe in supporting and promoting the sharing of the Gospel so that all the world will be blessed.  We also participate in Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan's Purse, in which we prepare and volunteer to help sort, screen, pack, and ship numerous shoeboxes filled with gifts and the gospel to millions of children across the globe.
